What's the difference between "Bid for Bid" and "Bid for Buy"?
- Bid for Bid: This is when the sender of an RFQ is asking suppliers to bid on opportunities for which they are also still in the bidding process themselves.
- Bid for Buy: Here, the sender of an RFQ is asking suppliers to bid on opportunities for which they already have the order. They know they need the items and are looking for the best price.
What does NC/NR mean?
NC/NR stands for Non-Cancellable, Non-Returnable. This means once an order is placed, it cannot be canceled or returned.
What is UOM?
UOM is simply an abbreviation for Unit of Measurement.
What is a Cross Reference?
A Cross Reference occurs when two (or more) manufacturers produce equivalent components that can be substituted within an assembly. These are considered alternates or "crosses" and can be offered by a supplier if the customer allows it by selecting the "Allow Crosses" option in the RFQ. When enabled, you can click on the manufacturer name and/or manufacturer part number to enter your recommendation.
What is Min & Mult?
Min./Mult. refers to the least amount possible allowed for purchase (Minimum order quantity) and the quantity per package (Multiple).
What is a Line Card?
A Line Card is a list provided by a supplier or distributor that names the manufacturers that their company is authorized/franchised to sell.
